I agree, and I have seen some useless Pro-Mac/Anti-PC sites
on the web. In fact, I made a Pro-PC/Anti-Mac site to parody them and I even said in the start of the web page that the site was done in humor and was not to be taken seriously. I just reworded things a bit, got examples from other web sites (mostly magazine sites) that I put up as links that supported what I said, and a lot where from Mac Rags and a few from Apple's site (The bug lists and hardware problems) to show that the Macintosh wasn't all that the Mac Jihad claimed it was.
I got some negative feedback from the Mac Jihad, including being subscribed to a dozen or so Macintosh mailing lists, and idiot e-mail like I saved at http://walden.mvp.net/~cable/pyscho.html which are the only ones I can list on a web site without getting an R or X rating.
When they started threatening my wife, and my home, and I had my car windows smashed twice (Here's a tip, never have your home address available on your web site or on an Internet database if there is cause for some moron to get mad at you, because they like to break stuff. I had to remove it from my online resume and change it on just about any "contact" web site with a bogus address to keep the cretins guessing.) and since I have no other enemies it only leaves one group that could have done it. That is the sort of mindset I find with most, but not all, Mac Users.
I have a list of old and new Anti-Mac sites at
http://walden.mvp.net/~cable/antimac.html
but some may have been taken down due to lack of interest, or the person hosting it got too many flames or threats or subscribed to mailing lists, or they simply moved locations. I don't want people e-mailing me about these sites, I just collected them for people interested in them and I had nothing to do with making those sites. One or two of them may have captured my original page and modified it, but I doubt they had the full version and a lot of it is outdated by now.
This was commented on in editorial copy shortly after it was posted since it blew me away to the lengths the MacJihad will go to "defend" machines, while abuse people. It's very old so I'm uncertain that his URL's are even current anymore.
The fact that I'm surrounded by an army of metrocops in a secure building and don't have the liabilities associated with owning a car, and exist a whole short block from; the Secret Service, the Department of the Treasury, the CIA, and even the Feds and their patrols that put the OK City bombing people on trial gives me some comfort that I'm sure Cable didn't have. It's just worth noting that there's more than a fair share of MacLoonies out there - hence the references to the MacJihad - which is quite accurate in this case.
