Apple fucked me and they fucked themselves.

     Well, the gentleman that owned the store went through some legal problems (freakin divorce) and had to dump the store. Myself and two other employees bought the place. When we contacted Apple about the change in ownership, the dick in the ass started from the first phone call. We were informed that the contract was not binding to the business, but to the previous owner.

Okay... We asked what does that mean.
It meant a new contract.
Okay... Give us details.

We would have to be re-evaluated and that process could take up to 9 months or longer. Same store, same employees, same qualifications, but no! Not that easy. We were told that we could not sell or service until that process was complete. 9 months would have driven our Apple/Mac customers right out the door. There are seven PC dealers in our area and mark-up on PCs was almost nothing, but we thought that we could still generate enough cash flow from PC sales and service to hold us over until the contract was a done deal. It was gonna be tight.

Well, when we started getting details on the new contract, we were informed that we would not be able to sell to any educational institution in our district. We are a university area and that was a major blow! Apple was selling to them direct and didn't want us in the pie.

The last straw was that we had to maintain over 1.5 million in sales yearly to keep the new contract. There was no way! We were cut out of the education market and that was our largest customer base. We told Apple they fucked us and hoped they knew that they were fucking themselves in the process. We closed the doors, threw the Apple neon sign (real nice too!) in the dumpster and never looked back.

I now work for that university in the computer and network services department. I fuck Apple every chance I get... We have already discontinued support for the only Mac lab on campus, and are putting the Macs in mothballs. Sweet, eh? The circle of life. By the way, there hasn't been any other computer store in this area that has picked up the Apple business. The Apple users here have to depend on mail-order and long drives to get equipment and service now. So I guess Apple fucked all them too. Bang a drum.

One last thing, as a prior Apple tech, don't ever let those fucks tell you the Mac is so much more dependable. There were always a shitload of them to work on. Always. Is this where I get flamed now? I am looking forward to hearing the lamers...
