It's probably a bad hour to even attempt to put this site or it's creator into some sense of context, or sense for that matter - particularly if you were aware on how many hours he's been putting in at his current job-related digs this week, telling people all the fantastic ways they can spend money on massive amounts of television programming brought to them via-sattelite. Or it's probably fantastically bad if you consider that the source of his inspiration is the by product of his many hours trying to think in the margins of thousands of notebooks and pieces of paper while taking notes at the above mentioned job. You don't know how many times I've been asked by co-workers as to what the hell I was doing, thinking, if I was even listening to the presentation about demographics and how many eyeballs might be watching television at any particular moment?

The fact is - the doodles that sprang up didn't have anything to do with television commercials, radio commercials, print deadlines, four-color seperations, product illustrations, newspaper ads, magazine inserts, front door treatments, navigation bar layouts, or pay-per-view updates. And yet - they did serve to keep me awake when listening to meetings discussing all of the above - and also allow me to recall what was being said while I was drawing. I could just write out more words instead of pictures - but that's not nearly as much fun.

So as far back as high-school I'd doodle as an aid to notetaking - often to make sense of what I was supposed to be hearing. But at the same time, these little mutants began to do things. Really odd things. In the nearly 20 years that they've been sketched, erased, and thrown into class and office ledgers - they began to start to make sense. At least to me anyway. It wasn't until 1999 that I came up with the rationale for their existance outside of my subconcious handywork. A story for the oddly sketched jaws. The googly eyes. And those ever present disk like things that appear in their stomachs. In fact, in the last few months - a whole universe came into focus on why they were made, and why there were so damn odd in the first place. That's pretty much why this site - and these animations exist. To shed a little light on the piles of artistic litter that has been made over the last two decades - and to see what they'll do on the internet.

In the meantime, you can check out my vitals up there on the right if you'd like to know the statistics on the professional background of a dooldle-holic, and if you came in here looking to find out about my favorite water sports and sex life - well - perhaps when I'm not so tired I'll update this page with more information for your voyeristic pleasure.

-Montgomery (Monty) Gabrys - A guy, a computer and a whole bunch of oddball sketches surrounding both.
